Toward Finding the Grit to Change
Each of us who chooses to ask questions, to seek positive Change, will make a difference. It
takes courage to face the truth of our politics, economics and culture,
and by aligning to a few basic principles we fortify our inner base to:
1. increase our ability to navigate the confusing maze of information out there with discernment, confidence and peace.
2. increase our ability to map a positive effective path for ourselves with awareness and sureness.
Exposure
of wrongdoing is a small but important first step in Change. As we
expose, we see and face our primal origins, the shadow side of mankind
that has woven itself throughout our civilized world in the form of embedded
institutional greed and self-righteous violence toward animals, children,
women, men, and nature. Many indigenous cultures had a way to channel this shadow side. Young men
were given structured rites of passage into their society as honorable
warriors, or Grandmothers slept with the young girls to prevent
rape. Lessons, codes and ceremonies were passed down through
the generations; they knew the shadow was a part of human nature
and dealt with it. At this point in history, the shadow
is Big. It is a violent virus that survives in
secrecy, spreads itself by getting a free ride on our emotions,
stealing our energy and our right to a free, joyous, creative life. Basing our actions on Universal Rights will
be a gift to all generations that follow us.
"The more divisive and isolated we are from each other, the more we cannot feel and the more we abuse each other.
The more we abuse each other, the more fragmented we become and in our vulnerable brokenness we submit to
and become dependent on the promises of hope and change that are offered to us
from religions and presidents." Marcel Messing
